HOW WE FORMED

TED CHAMBERLAIN - Tenor

Ted is a 3rd grade teacher and has been singing barbershop since joining the Barbershop Harmony Society while in HS in 1980. He has degrees in K-12 music and Vocal Performance, taught choir (and some orchestra) in public schools for 28 years, has sung in numerous quartets - most notably as baritone of 1989 EVG District Champion Quartet, "Vocal Attraction", 2005 EVG District Champion Quartet, "Vocal Magic," and 2015 EVG District Champion Quartet, "4.0" - and currently directs the Olympia Sweet Adelines Chorus. He loves spending time with his wife and his dogs on the beach near their home in Ocean Shores, WA.

GAVIN JENSEN - Lead

Gavin is a classically trained singer who stumbled into barbershop in 2012, when he met Ted while singing together in a men's chorus on America's Got Talent.  He has sung with the Choir of the West while at Pacific Lutheran University and, for several years, he sang around the Seattle area with a number of vocal groups, including Choral Arts Northwest, the Tudor Choir and the pit orchestra for Pacific Northwest Ballet. Gavin had his first barbershop quartet experience with 4.0, which went on to win the Evergreen District contest in 2015.  When he is not singing, Gavin enjoys both working as a software engineer on the Xbox Team at Microsoft and spending time with his amazing wife, Holly, chasing after their two boys Soren and Ian.

IRA ALLEN - Baritone

Ira has been singing barbershop harmony since 1983 and is currently a member of the Northwest Sound Chorus.  He has sung with Evergreen District champion quartets, 4.0 (2015) and Flashpoint (2001), both of which competed for several years in BHS International competitions. He is also currently singing with the seniors’ quartet, Free Advice.  Ira is a retired pathologist who enjoys being a volunteer classroom assistant and guest speaker at high school science classes in the Bellevue and Renton area.  He is also a volunteer assistant track and field coach at Newport HS in Bellevue and competes regionally and nationally as a masters athlete in the high jump. Ira lives in Bellevue, WA, with his wife, Elizabeth.

DANE CHEVASSUS - Bass

Dane began singing barbershop in 2014 with the Seattle Seachordsmen, where he met Ted, who was directing the chorus at the time. He sang in several quartets with the Seachordsmen, including Blue Skies, with Ted on lead. In 2017, he joined  the Northwest Sound Chorus and competed with them at the 2017 international barbershop convention. Dane graduated in 2015 from the University of Washington, with a bachelors degree in Musical Theatre, and has since chosen barbershop to be his primary artistic outlet. He currently works as a member of the Starbucks Reserve Manufacturing Team at the Capitol Hill Roastery in Seattle. He lives in north Seattle with his wife, Alyssa, and two cats, Fitz and Simmons.
